TB will now have the much-needed attention and recognition in the business of the Parliament of Ghana. The 2nd Deputy Speaker gave this assurance during a strategic high-level by The Board Chairman of Stop TB Partnership Ghana, David Kwesi Afreh and his team in his office at the House of Parliament in Accra. He indicated that he would start by pushing matters of TB to the leadership of Parliament through the Parliamentary Service Board. This he said is to among other things, ensure that TB receives a funding boost in the 2024 budget of the Government of Ghana.
According to the Speaker, TB has not received much prominence in the work of parliament, and for this reason, he has committed to making sure matters concerning the counter-funding of TB get the attention and commitment of the Ministry of Finance, and thereby include it to government’s expenditure in the budgeting cycle.
